Challenge 8: The Zodiac

You are tasked with creating a crime-fighting (or crime-making, or something) team of people called the Zodiac. Your team has 12 members. They might have superpowers, they might not and they carry out a task.
Choose either 12 characters that already exist OR original characters that you are making and cast an actor/actress to play them. They must link loosely to each of the 12 signs of the zodiac in some way.
THE ZODIAC
The world has ended, and the chemical-induced earthquake brought together twelve people who have never seen each other before. Some of them were supernatural; some were human. This apocalypse seems to have reset their powers, though, and in the aftermath they need to find a way to rebuild the earth, scour the world for other survivors, cope with their new-found powers and, most of all, create their own family.
ARIES (the warrior)
Buffy Summers
The realization that she couldn’t stop this apocalypse torments Buffy. Add to that the loss of her friends, family, powers and the gain of a passive power – excellent night vision, who cares? – and you see why Buffy needs all the support she can get. The Zodiacs might just be what she needs right now.
TAURUS
Sadie Saxton
Soon after the earthquake, Sadie had to realize she had to leave her bullying ways and start trying to connect to people. Her newfound healing power helps her become a part of the group and she quickly realizes that she might thrive better with the Zodiacs then without. She will never be the heart of the group, but she might be indispensable after all. But is she to be trusted?
GEMINI
Bay Kennish
Losing her sister has sharpened most of Bay’s soft edges. She’s willing to fight to make sure there is a next generation, and to ensure that that generation has a chance on a normal life. Her ability to astral project and then draw the details of what she has seen makes her the perfect scout.
CANCER
Raquel Westbrook
Raquel has always had a thick skin, it just has never been this literal. Nothing seems to be able to penetrate it, no knives, no arrows, no poison, though she wouldn’t go as far as saying she’s invincible. She instantly bonded with Nico, but has a hard time trusting the other Zodiacs.
LEO
Leo Wyatt
Leo has lost quite a lot in the earthquake: his wife, his family, his powers. His immortality. He is angry and closed off, unwilling to make any new friends and risk losing someone else. As a mind reader, he’s the Zodiac’s best hope of finding survivors, but he can’t get himself to care enough to give this new power a chance.
VIRGO (the innocent)
Scarlett O’Connor
Sweet Scarlett is the baby of the Zodiacs. The others try to protect her, but the reality of what has happened has hardened her shell. Never underestimate her though – her fiery attitude makes her just as worthy as the rest of them. And the fire that shoots from her fingers keeps them safe from the crazed animals.
LIBRA
Abigail Armstrong
Abigail’s balance might have been purely physical before the apocalypse, but after she has found her inner peace. Finally, she lost the need to be perfect. Her ability to talk with the animals makes her a valuable resource for information about the land. She connects easily with Bay and Scarlett, forming an unbreakable friendship within the Zodiac circle.
SCORPIO
Nico Careles
For problem solver Nico the world after ending isn’t so different from the world before. He finds a problem, he solves it; aided by the force fields he can conjure up whenever he wants, he’s the protector of the group. If Snow White is the mother, Nico is the father.
SAGITTARIUS
Snow White
Snow has lost her family again, but she’s not willing to give up. She of all people knows that sometimes you find your loved ones again in the strangest places. Her unique sense of knowing which plants are edible and which are poisonous goes a long way in ensuring the Zodiac’s survival.
CAPRICORN
Peter Bishop
Peter can escape out of anything. Though this ability hasn’t come in handy yet, the expectancy is that some day they’ll come upon the people who have released this chemical. By then, they’re going to need all the help they can get. Peter keeps himself on the edges of the Zodiacs, only ever talking with Buffy.
AQUARIUS
Wade Kinsella
Wade lies at the heart of the Zodaics. With his ability to read auras, he’s the go-to person when people are feeling down, upset or confused about someone’s attitude towards them. He does what he can to keep the peace in the group and make sure that they are working with instead of against each other.
PISCES
River Song
River may have lost her ability to travel through time and space, but she still moves like the wind: she can fly on the currents in the air. She doesn’t care for anyone excluding themselves from the group and tries to get both Leo and Sadie to be a real part of the Zodiacs.
